♆Neptune
Dreams · illusion · dissolving · transcendence
Rules: Pisces (modern) · Detriment in Virgo
Where the edges blur. Where you can either touch something larger or fool yourself completely.
Mythology
Poseidon / Neptune — god of the sea, brother of Zeus and Hades. The vast, the unknowable, the depth that can drown you. Discovered in 1846, during the height of the Romantic era — art that worshipped the sublime and the irrational.
What it means in a chart
Neptune dissolves. Where it transits is where your boundaries soften — for better (spiritual openness, art, compassion) or worse (delusion, addiction, victim narratives). It moves through one sign per ~14 years, so its sign is a generational marker.
Retrograde
Neptune retrogrades ~5 months a year. The fog clears slightly. You see through illusions you bought into during the direct phase. Often a relief.
How to read it in your chart
Neptune house = where you idealize, romanticize, or lose yourself. Neptune aspects to personal planets (Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars) are the chart-points where reality has the softest grip — for the right people, this is artistic genius; for others, chronic blind spots.
