The 12 zodiac signs
Each sign is a personality archetype. Here's what each one actually does — not the horoscope-magazine version.
The twelve signs come from dividing the ecliptic into twelve 30° slices, each named after a constellation. Each sign carries an element (Fire/Earth/Air/Water), a modality (Cardinal/Fixed/Mutable), and a ruling planet — together they shape the archetype. Your Sun sign is just one of ten placements in a chart, but it's the loudest one.

Patience and pleasure. The sign that builds things meant to last.
- ♊Gemini
May 21 – June 20
Mind in motion. Curious about everything, committed to nothing — until they are.
- ♋Cancer
June 21 – July 22
The home you carry with you. Soft outside, surprisingly steel underneath.
- ♌Leo
July 23 – August 22
The heart that wants to be seen. Generous when met with attention, hurt when ignored.
- ♍Virgo
August 23 – September 22
Precision in service of meaning. The sign that makes things better and can't stop noticing what's wrong.
- ♎Libra
September 23 – October 22
Balance as a discipline. The sign that holds the room together.
- ♏Scorpio
October 23 – November 21
The depth nobody else wants to swim to. Loyal as gravity, hard to fool.
- ♐Sagittarius
November 22 – December 21
The arrow looking for somewhere bigger. Adventurous, philosophical, accidentally rude.
- ♑Capricorn
December 22 – January 19
The long game. Patient, ambitious, building something that will outlast them.
- ♒Aquarius
January 20 – February 18
The future already arrived. Independent, humanitarian, oddly hard to know.
- ♓Pisces
February 19 – March 20
The boundary that dissolves. Empathic, dreamy, an artist whether or not they make art.
